Milestones

1979: Following in the footsteps of a long family tradition in the woodworking sector, the brothers Apostolos and Vasilios Stamos set up the company in their home town, Nikisiani in the prefecture of Kavala. Breaking new ground, the new company focused exclusively on nursery furniture.
1990: The company expanded its facilities from 500 m2 to 1,100 m2.
1992: A new extension covering 1,350 m2 was added to the company’s original facilities.
1995: For the first time Licno decorated its products with hand-painted illustrations, a trend which was soon imitated by other companies in the sector.
1999: Licno were the first Greek products of its kind to receive safety certification from TÜV Germany and was awarded the relevant certification mark.
2001: Licno’s production processes received quality certification from TÜV Hellas.
2006: ELOT certified the safety of Licno products in line with the EN 716–1:95 and EN 716-2:95 European standards.
2007: Production needs prompted the company to open a new sawmill (timber treatment facility) overing 300 m2 at company facilities ensuring vertical integration in the production of Licno.
2010: Breaking new ground once again, the company replaced hand-painted images and silk screen applications with digital printouts on Licno furniture.

For the past 3 decades Licno’s nursery furniture has been made bearing in mind the needs of babies and the unique taste of each and every parent. Licno products are illustrationed to offer comfort and safety in your child’s very first room; providing furniture that will accompany your child on the first years of his or her childhood.

As a company which attaches particular importance to safety, Licno not only complies with safety standards but has also had its products certified since 2001 in line with strict European safety standards. Licno products are ELOT certified for the EN 716–1:95 and EN 716-2:95 standards.

Moreover, our top quality raw materials, such as 100% Greek beech, MDF with low formaldehyde levels and non-toxic paints, contribute to making products of outstanding quality. Our level of quality is also assured and certified by TÜV Hellas in line with the ISO 9001:2008 quality standard.

At the same time, one of our priorities is to place emphasis on ergonomics and great looks for our furniture, so that the preferences of young parents can be met. We therefore offer a wide range of illustrations and colours to satisfy even the most demanding among them.

Production takes place at Licno’s 2,000 m2 privately owned facilities which have the complete range of technological equipment needed as well as a full complement of experienced staff. This is where we produce the Licno range based on past experience but with our eyes firmly fixed on the future.
